Welcome to our monthly media round-up, where we highlight some of Songtradr’s recent music placements in TV, film, advertisements, and more.
Sophie Jones
Jessie Barr’s deeply-personal directorial debut tells the story of sixteen-year-old Sophie Jones as she grieves her mother’s sudden death. Dealing with emotions such as anguish, anxiety, and teenage angst, the movie’s soundtrack spans multiple genres to get the right vibes. Punk rock musician Lisa May Black’s blistering single “Ad Nauseum” lands perfectly here.
VRBO
It’s news to no one that vacationing away over the past year has been a no-no. But as the warm weather arrives and flowers peep through again, the desire to get away is back. Using a warm acoustic song performed by Rodello’s Machine, vacation rental company VRBO captures the urge for sunshine and space in their latest ad campaign.
Dutch Lady
Kids in commercials usually bring smiles. In this milk power ad, Dutch Lady Vietnam captures the perfect mood with an instrumental version of “Schoolyard” performed by The Upsided.
Zalando
Tossing your ex’s clothes out the top story window usually makes an exit more dramatic. Fashion company Zalando recreate that classic movie trope with a little twist – instead of throwing clothes out, you can trade them in for new ones. Paul Anthony Sandrone and Paul Rawson provide the perfect break-up song for this cinematic campaign spot.
Distribution Artist of the Month
Christina Gavrilova, aka Forty Cats, is our distribution artist of the month. The Russian producer’s melodic house and elegantly-textured techno music has seen her become a celebrated figure in Murmansk, where she has performed as a DJ for more than a decade.
Songtradr Playlist
Even though we have a full month to celebrate, not a day passes when we don’t appreciate the women in our lives. This month’s playlist celebrates the wonderful women whose music is available for you to license on Songtradr all year round.
