  • Ed Sheeran will be sharing never-before-seen footage of a live performance at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust Unseen Series. his content will be free for fans to view but the artists and the charity are urging fans to donate. Watch here at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET.
  • Gloria Estefan and the cast of Hamilton will be performing during The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis’ 35th annual Great Sports Legends Dinner, which is going virtual this year. The event will be livestreamed, beginning at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET. Tickets are available through the Buoniconti website; all proceeds will benefit Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
  • Jason Isbell, Smith & Myers, American Authors and more are performing as part of Sound Mind Live’s “Come Together virtual music festival. The benefit concert is celebrating World Mental Health Day. It begins at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on Relix’s YouTube channel. The show benefits affiliates of National Alliance on Mental Illness; donations can be made here.

 

Friday, October 9

  • Charli XCX will be performing her album How I’m Feeling Now for the first time in a livestream concert on TIDAL and the Venues app. “It’s been so strange not being able to perform this body of work yet, so I’m really excited to be able to bring how I’m feeling now to life with TIDAL,” she said in a statement. “It’s gonna be super cute, I can’t wait.” The show begins at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET.   • All Time Low is performing the entirety of Wake Up, Sunshine in a livestream show that was taped in July. The set kicks off their Basement Noise Concert Series, which will include four other shows, with the band members each curating one set: Oct. 23 will be Rian’s; Nov. 13 Zack’s; Dec. 4 Alex’s; and Dec. 18 Jack’s. Tickets go on sale Sept. 30 on the band’s website.
  • Rufus Wainwright is doing a virtual livestream tour of his nine studio albums in chronological order. The first show will feature the artist performing from his self-titled debut, and begins at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 on the day of the show.   • Dave Koz is celebrating the release of his new album, A New Day, with a livestream event. He’ll be performing new songs as well as hits from his Southern California studio, premiere a new video, and answer fan questions. The event begins at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET on LoopedLive.com. Tickets are $15; a portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCare’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
  • Scarypoolparty is livestreaming a set from L.A.‘s The Roxy. He’ll be playing the entirety of Exit Form and Doom Hologram for the first time. Tickets begin at $10.
  • Niki will be doing a livestream performance titled “Moonchild Experience,” an event that will fuse surrealism, immersive storytelling and music. The set begins at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on YouTube.
  • Hanson are kicking off their first livestream concert series in October from Cain’s Ballroom to help promote and support independent music venues. The pop-rock trio will be doing three shows each month through January, with each month featuring a new theme. October will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Hanson’s The Best of Hanson, Live and Electric. Members of the Hanson.net community will also have the chance to snag a very limited number of in-person tickets; social distancing guidelines will be followed. Saturday, October 10

  • BTS will be holding an online streaming performance event “ BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E” on October 10 & 11. Watch here at 3 a.m. PT/6 a.m. ET.
     
  • Rod Stewart, Sam Smith, Usher and more will participate in the Carousel of Hope charity ball, which is going virtual this year. The event begins at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET and will stream on YouTube; reserve your spot at CarouselOfHope.org.
  • The Verve Pipe are playing a ticketed livestream show featuring some of their hits, including “The Freshmen,” as well as debut new music. “This will be a live stream like no other; an inside look at the band’s creative process,” frontman Brian Vander Ark said in a statement. “In addition to playing the favorites and telling some of the stories behind them, I’ll be introducing two new songs to the band for the first time, and we’ll work them out live in front of the virtual audience.” The set begins at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET; tickets can be purchased here.
  • Industrial supergroup Pigface is helping support local concert venues with its “Everywhere All At Once” livestream. The set to be featured was filmed Nov. 30, 2019, at Thalia Hall in Louisville, Ky. Before the show begins streaming, there will be a Q&A session with the band, special guest performances, and an auction featuring rare Pigface merch. The event begins at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET; tickets start at $15. Half of the proceeds will benefit venues; there are currently 65 venues participating.
  • Rage will be performing a live show from a church in Essen, Germany, which will be streamed. The show begins at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET;tickets are 10 Euros.

Fridays

Carnegie Hall, the iconic New York concert hall, is streaming a selection from its archive every Friday beginning at 3:00 am ET as part of Carnegie Hall Fridays. Streams will remain accessible for 72 hours. Visit carnegiehall.org for the updated schedule.

The Grateful Dead’s YouTube channel plays hosts every Friday to Shakedown Stream, a two-part live stream for fans of the long-running rock band. Archivist David Lemieux and historian Gary Lambert host a live Q&A, which is followed by a re-airing of a classic Dead show. Fridays at 8:00 pm ET.

Pink Floyd will stream a concert from the British rock band’s long history every Friday at 12:00 pm ET. You can watch on YouTube.

Pickathon, an annual music festival in Portland, is streaming #AConcertADay every day at 4 p.m. ET on its YouTube channel.

D‑Nice, the celebrity DJ/producer/rapper/photographer, hosts nightly “Club Quarantine” live streams on his Instagram. They’ve featured “guest appearances” by singers like John Legend and rappers Common and Big Daddy Kane.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are hosting virtual hip hop battles on Instagram Live called Verzuz. Erykah Badu and Jill Scott came together for three hours of magic in a recent one.
