Thursday, September 17

  • San Franklin, Austin Grimm, Maddie Medley, Lydia Luce and more are set to perform during the Unlocked Voices campaign. The event benefits Unheard Voices Outreach and Free Hearts. The show will stream free at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET via Calling All Crows’ Facebook Live, but a donation is suggested.
  • Jesse McCartney will be having virtual Meet & Greets 1‑on‑1 over video chat through the Looped App. Early hang is at 12 p.m. PT and late hang is at 3 p.m. PT. More info here.

 

Friday, September 18

  • Lil Baby, Nas, Wale and Rapsody will be performing as part of Howard University’s “Rap Life Live.” They will be offering songs that “offer light and legacy” during the event that the university hopes will “spotlight the link between music and message — between art and justice — as it comes to bear in this moment.” In addition to the performances, the event will also feature discussions. It begins at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Apple Music.

  • Lamb of God is performing for the first time the entirety of the band’s latest self-titled release from their hometown Richmond, Va. The sets begin at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET, with a pre-show kicking off an hour earlier featuring a Q&A with the band, as well as a set from Bleed From Within. Tickets are $15, and limited edition merch/ticket bundles are also available at the band’s website
  • Hirie will be doing a livestream acoustic performance for fans on her YouTube channel. “This is an opportunity to stay connected with our fans until we can see them in real-life again, soon!” Trish said in a statement. The event begins at 6:15 p.m. PT/9:15 p.m. ET on YouTube.
  • Industrial music festival Cold Waves is going virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event will feature live presentations from Meat Beat Manifesto, Cyanotic and more; rare footage of performances from Front Line Assembly, OHGR, 16 Volt and others; classic industrial music videos; and much more. The event streams free on Twitch, and begins at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET each night (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday).
  • Alicia Keys will be having a livestream concert at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET. Watch here

  • Perfume Genius is performing live from L.A.‘s Palace Theater, and the set will include songs from the new album Set My Heart on Fire Immediately. Tickets are on sale now for $15, or $20 day of show, via Veeps. The event begins at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET.
  • Joe Bonamassa is holding a virtual concert and afterparty showcase streaming from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. He’ll be discussing and playing the entirety of his upcoming album, Royal Tea. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation for Joe’s Fueling Musicians Program. The event begins at 1 p.m. PT/ 4 p.m. ET; tickets start at $20.
  • Ruth B. is performing a 10-song concert in Minecraft to help encourage girls to use their science, technology, engineering and math skills to help build a concert world in the video game ahead of the event. The show begins at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET in Minecraft, and can also be streamed on She Can STEM’s YouTube channel.
  • Rare Essence holds its 45th anniversary virtual concert at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, featuring the premiere of its new single/video “Hit the Floor” ft. Snoop Dogg. Details here.

Fridays

Carnegie Hall, the iconic New York concert hall, is streaming a selection from its archive every Friday beginning at 3:00 am ET as part of Carnegie Hall Fridays. Streams will remain accessible for 72 hours. Visit carnegiehall.org for the updated schedule.

The Grateful Dead’s YouTube channel plays hosts every Friday to Shakedown Stream, a two-part live stream for fans of the long-running rock band. Archivist David Lemieux and historian Gary Lambert host a live Q&A, which is followed by a re-airing of a classic Dead show. Fridays at 8:00 pm ET.

Pink Floyd will stream a concert from the British rock band’s long history every Friday at 12:00 pm ET. You can watch on YouTube.

Pickathon, an annual music festival in Portland, is streaming #AConcertADay every day at 4 p.m. ET on its YouTube channel.

D‑Nice, the celebrity DJ/producer/rapper/photographer, hosts nightly “Club Quarantine” live streams on his Instagram. They’ve featured “guest appearances” by singers like John Legend and rappers Common and Big Daddy Kane.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are hosting virtual hip hop battles on Instagram Live called Verzuz. Erykah Badu and Jill Scott came together for three hours of magic in a recent one.

H.E.R. hosts “Girls With Guitars,” a performance and conversation series, on her Instagram. Pasts guests included Sheryl Crow, Tori Kelly and Alessia Cara.
