Pride Events

  • Can’t Cancel Pride — Thursday, June 25 at 9:00 pm ET: iHeartRadio and P&G bring together inspirational voices in the LGBTQ community, along with LGBTQ allies, to benefit 6 diverse LGBTQ organizations, unifying communities and recognizing 50 years of Pride with bold performances and powerful, intersectional messages of spirit and strength. The event will include performances by Adam Lambert, Ben Platt, Big Freedia, Katy Perry, Kim Petras, Melissa Etheridge, Ricky Martin with Carla Morrison and Sia.
  • NYC Pride — Friday, June 26 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm ET: NYC Pride will hold a virtual rally that will be hosted by Ashlee Marie Preston, the first transgender person to openly run for state office in California, and Brian Michael Smith, a transgender actor who has starred in “Homeland,” “Queen Sugar” and “The L Word: Generation Q.” Speakers include Ceyenne Doroshow, Annie Segarra, Edafe Okporo and Leandro E. Rodriguez Ramos.
  • Global Pride — Saturday, June 27 at 10:30 am: World leaders, royalty, pop stars and drag queens will anchor this year’s 24-hour Global Pride livestream, the first worldwide LGBTQ event, which is putting the Black Lives Matter movement at its center. Todrick Hall will host the stream of music, performances, speeches and messages of support. It is expected to attract up to 300 million viewers. Participants include Joseph R. Biden Jr., the presumptive Democratic nominee for president; the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi; Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister; Leo Varadkar, the Irish prime minister; Carlos Alvarado Quesada, president of Costa Rica, where same-sex marriage was legalized in May; Erna Solberg, prime minister of Norway; Xavier Bettel, prime minister of Luxembourg; Crown Princess Mary of Denmark; and Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of India. The entertainers Laverne Cox, Adam Lambert, Kesha, Rita Ora, the Pussycat Dolls, Dixie Chicks, Olivia Newton-John, Pabllo Vittar, Courtney Act and many others will also take part. Hundreds of Pride organizations from around the world contributed to the stream, including most of the ones on this list.
  • LA Pride — Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 am: LA Pride’s first virtual parade will air as a 90-minute prime-time special on ABC7, which will also broadcast the event online. Through historical vignettes and in-depth interviews, the special will highlight local unsung heroes, queer culture and community activists. Guests include Alex Newell, Amara La Negra, Bob the Drag Queen, Carson Kressley, Erika Jayne, Hayley Kiyoko, Jake Borelli, Lance Bass, Lee Daniels, Leslie Jordan, Megan Hilty, Mj Rodriguez, Neve Campbell, Sandra Bernhard, Shea Diamond, the Pussycat Dolls, Trixie Mattel and more. Ellen Leyva and Brandi Hitt, of ABC7 Eyewitness News, will host alongside special guests Raven-Symoné and Karl Schmid.
  • San Francisco Pride — Saturday, June 27 + Sunday, June 28: 13-hour suite of live and pre-recorded musical performances, greetings from elected officials and reflections on 50 years of Pride. Additional events still to come include Frameline44 Pride Showcase (June 25 through 28), the Trans March 2020 (June 26), Openhouse’s LGBTQ Senior Prom (June 26); Illuminate the Pink Triangle (June 27); and “Fifty Years of SF Pride,” a CBS televised special (June 28). Where: SF Pride’s primary event will be available on the SF Pride website. “Fifty Years of SF Pride” will be broadcast on KPIX and KBCW in the Bay Area and streamed on the KPIX website.   • Sting, Danny Elfman, Andra Day, Hans Zimmer, Alan Menken, Darren Criss, “Weird Al” Yankovic,  Patti LuPone, Paul Williams, Harvey Fierstein, Marc Shaiman, Holly Hunter, Catherine O’Hara and many more artists and composers will take part in Soundtrack of our Lives: A Celebration for the Film & TV Music Community, an online benefit for MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. The one-hour program, which will highlight beloved film and TV music moments featuring more than 75 film and TV composers and songwriters, debuts at 12:00 pm PT here
  • Governor’s Ball will be streaming sets here “From the Vault” beginning June 25. Travis Scott’s performance will air at 8:00 pm ET followed by The Black Keys at 9:00 pm ET.
  • Steven Tyler, the Dropkick Murphys, Common, and more are taking part in the Hot Stove Cool Music concert benefiting the Theo and Paul Epstein’s Foundation To Be Named Later, which provides opportunities for youth and families in Boston and Chicago’s underserved communities. Tickets are available for a $5 minimum donation at ftbnl.org. The event begins at 8:00 pm ET and will stream on YouTube.
  • Depeche Mode’s LiVE SPiRiTS 2018 show taped in Berlin will stream one time only on Live Nation’s YouTube channel. The stream begins at 3:00 pm ET.
  • Alex Ebert, Indigo Girls, Milck and more will perform during the “Vote Safe 2020 Live” livestream event at 8:30 pm ET/ 5:30 pm PT. The event is a collaborative effort with organizations including HeadCount, Future Coalition, Vote at Home and The Andrew Goodman Foundation. RSVP here

 

Friday, June 26

  • Governor’s Ball will continue streaming sets here “From the Vault.” Post Malone’s performance will air at 8:00 pm ET followed by Major Lazer at 9:00 pm ET.
  • Angélique Kidjo will provide an electrifying performance at 7:00 pm ET via the SummerStage YouTube channel.
  • The Immediate Family, which includes Danny Kortchmar (guitar and vocals), Waddy Wachtel (guitar and vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums) and Steve Postell (guitar and vocals), will stream a live show from the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. at 8:30 pm PT. Fans can sign up for a free ticket day of show here.  On June 27, Sweetwater Virtual GearFest will stream a performance workshop with the band recorded earlier.

 

Saturday, June 27

  • Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Justin Bieber and more will perform for Global Citizen and the European Commission’s “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future” concert. The event, which will shine a light on how the pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities, will air on NBC in the United States, and will also be streamed digitally.   • Josh Groban will relive his hits in an intimate career-spanning livestream concert, starting at 4:00 pm. ET. Tickets available via JoshGroban.com. Ticketholders will receive an access code to the live stream that’s good for 48 hours at the start of the concert. They can also purchase limited VIP bundles with special merch, including an official event tee with $5 of each sale benefiting Josh’s Find Your Light Foundation.
  • The Roots Picnic 2020 is partnering with Michelle Obama to try to reach eligible voters and urge them to go to cast their ballots this year. Performers include The Roots, H.E.R., Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, G Herbo and many others. The event — in its 13th year — will also feature appearances by the former first lady, Janelle Monae, Kerry Washington, Tom Hanks, and more. The Picnic will be streamed on The Roots’ YouTube channel.

 

Sunday, June 28

  • Richard Marx performs a solo live acoustic set from his LA home. During the 90-minute performance, Marx will perform his hits and fan favorites, as well as songs from his new album, Limitless. Tickets range from $15 to $130 (plus fees) at tourgigs.com; $5 from every T‑shirt-ticket bundle will benefit No Kid Hungry. The livestream begins at 4:00 pm ET.
  • Live From The Lobero Presents: A Live Pay-Per-View Concert Featuring Kenny Loggins will take place at 7:00 pm. PT. Tickets are $15, and proceeds will go toward keeping The Lobero running, as well as to the National Independent Venue Association.

 

Festivals

  • June 25–28 — Electric Blockaloo is set to feature more than 300 artists including Bedouin, Jauz, Justin Martin Nicole Moudaber, Getter, Gryffin, Tokimonsta, Walker & Royce and many more, all hosting stages built inside the game Minecraft June 25–28. The event is 18+, and those interested need to get on artists’ guest lists to get a link before the event.
  • June 27 — Leveler, an online mutual aid tool designed to aid the redistribution of wealth in local communities, has partnered with streaming platform Shipping for a festival to benefit the Black Trans Travel Fund. The all-day festival will feature lectures from comedian Rachel Sennott, an activist working in Hong Kong, and more, as well as musical performances including a back-to-back DJ set by Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat, ballroom icon MikeQ, pop experimentalists Okay Kaya and Xhosa, and more.

Fridays

  • Carnegie Hall, the iconic New York concert hall, is streaming a selection from its archive every Friday beginning at 3:00 am ET as part of Carnegie Hall Fridays. Streams will remain accessible for 72 hours. Visit carnegiehall.org for the updated schedule.
  • The Grateful Dead’s YouTube channel plays hosts every Friday to Shakedown Stream, a two-part live stream for fans of the long-running rock band. Archivist David Lemieux and historian Gary Lambert host a live Q&A, which is followed by a re-airing of a classic Dead show. Fridays at 8:00 pm ET.
  • Pink Floyd will stream a concert from the British rock band’s long history every Friday at 12:00 pm ET. You can watch on YouTube.
  • The String Cheese Incident hosts Friday Night Cheese, live broadcasts of past concerts. Fridays at 8:00 pm ET on YouTube and Facebook.

  • London’s Royal Albert Hall is regularly streaming exclusive sessions from various artists homes. Part artists include KT Tunstall, Rufus Wainwright and Richard Thompson. Visit royalalberthall.org for an updated schedule.
  • Pickathon, an annual music festival in Portland, is streaming #AConcertADay every day at 4 p.m. ET on its YouTube channel.
  • D‑Nice, the celebrity DJ/producer/rapper/photographer, hosts nightly “Club Quarantine” live streams on his Instagram. They’ve featured “guest appearances” by singers like John Legend and rappers Common and Big Daddy Kane.
  • Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are hosting virtual hip hop battles on Instagram Live called Verzuz. Erykah Badu and Jill Scott came together for three hours of magic in a recent one.
  • The London Symphony Orchestra streams a concert from its archive twice a week — every Sunday and Thursday — on its YouTube channel. Visit lso.co.uk for an updated schedule.
  • H.E.R. hosts “Girls With Guitars,” a performance and conversation series, on her Instagram. Pasts guests included Sheryl Crow, Tori Kelly and Alessia Cara.
  • Lollapalooza has opened up vault for anyone to watch past performances from its festivals. Watch Thursdays and Sundays on its YouTube channel.
  • Boiler Room Streaming from Isolation (Daily) via their website.
  • United We StreamA selection of some of Europe’s best clubs, across cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Manchester and Stuttgart – hosting nightly streams featuring an array of underground electronic music talent. See the full schedule here.
  • Claptone in the CircusTech-house artist, Claptone, has unveiled a weekly immersive video series called “Claptone In the Circus.” Every Wednesday from now until August 5th, 2020, the German producer will be streaming live at 12:00 pm PST, 3:00 pm EST through his YouTube channel.
  • Death Cab for Cutie Lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Gibbard has started a sporadic ‘Live From Homestream, on YouTube and Facebook.
