The anticipation is palpable on days we host Songtradr Sessions at our HQ in Santa Monica.
The social committee is buzzing, and our company watering hole is transformed into a wonderland of string lights and stage surrounded by comfy seating. Nibbles, tasty beverages and a last-minute dash for candle holders, et voila, Lounge 220 is ready!
This month’s artists are the statuesque and lovely Aimee deBeer and wildly flamboyant Pete Wilde, both with recent new albums that are already making waves.
Aimee deBeer
Aimee deBeer’s music is an elegant and ethereal fusion of feeling and alt-pop melodies. The nomadic singer-songwriter pulls from a wide array of life experiences and musical influences, having explored far corners of the world and graced many cities with her music. Born in South Africa, she has lived in New York, Texas, England and now Los Angeles, where she continues to write and release her imaginative and thought-provoking songs.
“I began to view the unknown as a friend of mine, and my imagination as the ultimate refuge,” says deBeer, who often references escapism when describing her writing, “I was in awe of how expansive, enveloping and mysterious sound could be.”

Pete Wilde
Pete Wilde’s solo debut, “Sugar & Smoke” is a fusion of rock, funk, soul, hip-hop, and R&B that results in his own fresh sound. Born in Oakland, Wilde grew up watching his stepfather play saxophone for Prince, whose influence can be heard in this music and by the tattoo on his wrist!
While his album pays tribute to a lineage of legends, Wilde is building a legacy, blending empowering and conscious lyrics with funky bass lines, soulful vocals, and the infinite energy and timeless glory of rock.
