Our Santa Monica team gathered once again for our monthly celebration of artists from the Songtradr community. This week, two brilliant musicians graced our lounge-turned-stage to share some of their favorite works, one of which happens to double as our multi-talented Marketing Manager. Please enjoy these selections from the wonderful Leah Capelle and our very own, Hannah Connolly.
Hannah Connolly
From Where You Are
Folk singer-songwriter, Hannah Connolly, hails from Wisconsin and currently resides in California. Her Americana stylings brilliantly exemplify the rich U.S. tradition of thoughtful, poetic lyricism, beautifully sung to acoustic melodies.
The soft treble of lap-steel echoed between acoustic guitar strums and piano chords, accompanying the sweet sound of Connolly’s voice, with heart-warming lyrics in honor of her late brother. “From Where You Are” is a touching snapshot of what it’s like to cope with the loss of a loved one, and its eloquent vulnerability truly captivated the crowd. You can find Connolly’s’s single, “From Where You Are,” on Songtradr.

Leah Capelle
triptych
Leah Capelle sings alternative pop-rock and often plays with a live, electric band. Originally from Chicago, the midwest-turned-LA artist blends raw and emotional lyrics with fun and fresh rhythms that excite her fans and new listeners, alike.
Often a bit more upbeat, with a few hilarious stories to tell from the top of her performance, Cappelle slowed it down for us with a raw and striking rendition of her unreleased song, “triptych.” The songstress’ skillful use of a voice box drew us in, creating haunting harmonies over distorted guitar. Listen closely for the quiet between lyrics as we stayed silent, enchanted by elegiac words about love lost. Leah’s latest EP, Giants, is out now.
